Canaan Valley, West Virginia
The Canaan Valley is an upland valley in northeastern West Virginia. It is well-known for it's partially undeveloped scenic mountains and valleys. Within it are extensive wetlands and the headwaters of the Blackwater River which spills out of the valley at Blackwater Falls in Blacwater Falls National Park. In winter skiers flock to the area to enjoy the Canaan Valley ski resort. The nearby wilderness area of Dolly Sods is a well known destination for landscape photographers.
